Home Made Christmas Ornaments

christmas lights Pictures, Images and Photos

It's fun to make Home Made Christmas ornaments, especially if you let your kids help you. Every year when you look at the tree, you will be reminded of the great time you had making them. Home Made Christmas Ornaments are also great to give as gifts and for package decorations. I hope you have fun making these Home made Christmas ornaments!

Cookie Ornament

Sooo cute!

4 c. flour, 1 c. salt, 1 1/2 c. water, seguines, buttons, beads, etc., acrylic paints, spray varnish, metal ornament hooks, straw

Mix flour, salt and water and knead thoroughly. Add more water if too dry. On foil or wax paper, form shapes and figures or roll out and cut with holiday cookie cutters. Push in seguins, etc. Poke a hole with a straw for hanging on the tree. Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour. After ornaments cool, paint on designs and spray with varnish. When dry, tie with ribbon and hang on tree.

Dog Biscuit Reindeer Ornaments

These cute little reindeer ormanents are made using, that's right...dog biscuits. They are really cute, especially for kids to make. I have made these in bulk for my kids to give their friends. They really are cute. I'll post a picture very soon!

1 doggy biscuit, ribbon, wiggly eyes, red pom pom ball, spray varnish, black permanent marker (thin), pipe cleaner (chenille sticks) in brown or metallic. You will also need a glue gun. If kids are helping...please be cautious. I normally use a low temp glue gun.

I draw the mouth on first (I just draw a vertical line for the mouth) and then spray varnish the front and the back of the biscuit to seal. If you do this, it will last for years.

Next, glue pom pom ball at the top of the vertical line. Glue the wiggly eyes right above the pom pom ball. I have found the closer together you glue the eyes to each other, the better it looks. Gluing the eyes far apart make it look kind of funny.

Cut a piece of pipe cleaner into 4, 3 inch pieces. Wrap one piece around another to make an antler, then do the same with the other two pieces. Glue to the top of the head of the reindeer. Glue a loop of ribbon at the top to hang on the tree. Very cute. I also like to spray glitter on most of the ornaments that I make..the glitter just shows up enough to catch the Christmas lights on the tree!

You can do this exact same idea (reindeer) on popsicle sticks, twigs, plastic spoon, candy canes or anything else you can find. There are litterally dozens of things you can make this ornament on!
